A-Reece lectures his haters

Once again we have another surprise drop from A-Reece himself and this time around it is the remix deluxe to ‘The Burning Tree’ mixtape which features a few remixes from some other original songs.

Now the songs which were remixed are ‘First Time 4 Everything’, ‘Can’t Open My Eyez’, ‘Live Once’, and ‘Intentions Interlude’.

All the above remixes were done by Yolophonik and I must say, he perfected every single one of them.

Now if you remember very well, Yolophonik also produced ‘Different Things’ off of A-Reece’s 2022 Extended Play ‘Deadlines: Free P2’, so Yolophonik and A-Reece have developed a solid relationship musically.

I mean for A-Reece to allow him to remix some of his songs, just speaks to how much he trusts him, so shout out to Yolophonik.

Besides the remixes, A-Reece also released a new song titled ‘Bet On Myself’, and he was truly talking his stuff on this one. I mean he first started off by saying;

Started rappin’ when I was 11
Where I’m from, I’m already a legend
To the city I rep’ I’m indebted (Okay, yeah)
Holdin’ it down from the East to the West
The North and the South and everywhere else
When everyone doubted I bet on myself

So in the above lyrics, we have A-Reece speaking on how he started rapping at the young age of just 11 years.

A-Reece always speaks on how he was inspired by his older brother, Jay Jody, to start rapping because he initially wanted to pursue a rap career, which developed him into the artist he is today.

He also speaks on how he is already a legend in Pretoria, and that he is indebted to the city because they have supported him for the longest of times.

And lastly, A-Reece speaks on how when everyone counted him out especially when departed from Ambitiouz Entertainment, he still believed in himself, which I think we could all take a lesson from. But anyways he still continued by saying;

Got somethin’ to say, better say it direct
It’s only your homiеs who think you got next
I’m numero uno, they takin’ offеnce
I know I’m that nigga for real
This industry know it ain’t easy replacin’ the best
How do you? (How?)
How do you hate on a nigga you ain’t even met?

In the above lyrics, A-Reece speaks on how people who have something to say should rather say it to him, because I mean people are always speaking about him, so it would be better for them to address him directly.

I also like how A-Reece is still preaching the narrative of being the best rapper in Africa right now, and we have seen some individuals take offense to that. And because he is at the top right now, it is not going to be easy to take his spot.

Considering that he believes he is the best, whether it is certain artists or their fanbases, they all love to hate on A-Reece despite not knowing him or even meeting him.

A-Reece still continued by saying;

My shawty be dressin’ to kill
I’m fresh to death like we just came from the Met
Stackin’ it up til’ it’s lookin’ as tall as Durant
I ball like I play for the Nets
I know you (Swish, yeah)
I know you ain’t tough as you are on the net
You blowin’ your cover, just lay it to rest
Nigga this shit is as real as it gets (Yeah, let’s go, for real)
Came from the bottom
They fell from the top, I cannot relate (Ayy)
Fuck what they sayin’ I do what I want, I did what it takes

So with the above lines we have A-Reece speaking on how he and his girlfriend, Rickelle Jones, always look good together, looking like they just came from The Met Gala, and how they are trying to pile their cash as tall as Kevin Durant who once played for the Brooklyn Nets, and that individuals who hate on him aren’t as tough as they are behind the internet because the more they comment on him, the more they blow their cover.

Now I must say that this is a crazy play on words and rhyme scheme from A-Reece, and it just shows how lyrically gifted he is and why he is at the top right now.

A-Reece still spoke on how he started off from the bottom and made his way to the top, whereas others fell from the top, but he doesn’t intend on doing so which is why he cannot relate, but anyways A-Reece still said;

I find it ironic how I be on ten after rollin’ a eighth (Yeah)
Told you that I ain’t just tryna be good, I gotta be great (Yeah)
Went through the pain and sufferin’ (Keep goin’)
Kept it a K, it’s nothin’ (Nothin’)
Two different strains I’m puffin’ (Okay, let’s go)

Now I’m sure by now we all know that A-Reece is a weed connoisseur, I mean it seems like he stays lit most of the time and it has essentially become a part of his everyday lifestyle, all I know is that it wouldn’t an A-Reece song without a weed bar.

A-Reece also spoke on how he is trying to be great if not the greatest, and how being good isn’t enough because he has had to be resilient and enjoy to get where he is at today.

A-Reece concluded by saying;

You don’t mean what you say, you just bluffin’
It’s a campaign I’m runnin’
They say I’m insane, I love it (Okay, let’s go)
They know when I’m rollin’ with Jody and Staxx I get hard to approach (Ayy)
Said I would make it and you niggas thought I was makin’ a joke (Ayy)
Now they know every year in October that boy gon’ be doin’ the most (Yeah)
Maybe that’s why they be tellin’ you niggas that me and them bros (Yeah)

With A-Reece pushing the narrative of being the best out right now, it is sort of like a campaign that he is running and we have seen people hating on him for that, hence it being called insane but he loves it.

Now with 2023 being a new year and October slowly approaching once again, we could finally get ‘Paradise 2’, which confirmed is to be released this year, and I say this because it is true that during October A-Reece usually does the most.

I mean just last year he dropped ‘Deadlines: Free P2’, and in other years he dropped ‘From Me to You & Only You’, we had ‘And I’m Only 21’, and ‘Paradise’. So hopefully we get ‘Paradise 2’.

With all that said, I wasn’t expecting this from A-Reece, I mean it is dope seeing one of South Africa’s top rappers being unorthodox with his moves. So say what you want about him, but he stays consistent so shout out to him.

Anyways guys let me know your thoughts on this, are you enjoying the remixes or prefer the originals?

Also, let me know what you thought about A-Reece’s new song ‘Bet On Myself’, did you agree with his sentiments or not?
