Is A-Reece no longer relevant?

It seems like A-Reece disappointed some fans with his recently released music project, ‘The Burning Tree: Remix Deluxe’, in celebration of 420.

Is A-Reece no longer relevant?
South African rapper, producer, A-Reece.

The Pretoria West native dropped the remix Deluxe to his 2022 EP, ‘The Burning Tree’, which had some remixes of the original songs done by Yolophonik and a new song titled ‘Bet On Myself’.

Now since releasing the project, it has had his fanbase split where some really enjoyed it while on the other side of the spectrum, others believe he’s fallen off because of this release.

There were some fans on Twitter expressing their displeasure about A-Reece’s recent project.

Twitter user @hlonitheelixir tweeted;

I know he fell off, but why didn’t he say that he dropped?

Another fan with a Twitter handle @9henry_ tweeted;

Now I don’t know what metric these individuals are basing A-Reece’s falloff on, and that is even to say if he even fell off, but what are they going based on?

Yes, A-Reece doesn’t have the best management that pushes him.

And yes he doesn’t efficiently promote certain music that he releases, but I thought we all knew by now that A-Reece does things his own way, and moves the way he wants to.

I still find it funny that we have people in 2023 trying to play A-Reece’s manager and tell him how to move.

If it is a case of you not liking his music or the single, ‘Bet On Myself’, that he dropped, then leave it at that, after all, music is subjective and no one can tell you what to like.

But at the same time, don’t paint a false narrative about him falling off when we all know that he is still one of the top rappers in South Africa.

I mean currently as I’m writing this article, A-Reece has six music projects in the top 100 hip hop rap albums on the Apple Music charts in South Africa, with the remix Deluxe of ‘The Burning Tree’ sitting at number two.

Now for a project that allegedly has not been received well right, how come it is doing so well in the music charts?

And it also needs to be noted that A-Reece also has one of the highest Spotify fan retention percentages in South Africa with 327%, which speaks to how good he is at turning his monthly listeners into followers.

Therefore if A-Reece is still charting well and attracting more fans to his music, then where is the fall off? I’m still asking myself what metric these individuals base their conclusion on.

And by the way, I like what another Twitter had to say on the matter. A fan with the Twitter handle @unclehornets tweeted;

Now the above Twitter user couldn’t have said it better, I mean people love to hate on A-Reece, and it seems like it has become this new trend to do.

But in doing so, stop forcing your narratives onto other people when you clearly have no basis for proving what you are saying.

And with all that said, you guys let me know your thoughts on this, do you agree with what some of the individuals had to say about A-Reece falling off and his management not pushing him in the right direction?

Or do you understand that A-Reece does things his own way and will continue to do so?
