Kashcpt is very talented but underrated

In this article, I just want to talk about Kashcpt and his most recent studio album, “Cape Town Radio 2”, which is a sequel to the first one which dropped way back on Friday 4 December 2020.

I just want to discuss the talent that is Kashcpt because I feel as if his efforts get overlooked or just go unnoticed which is disappointing to see because he is really one of the most talented artists in the South African hip-hop industry right now.

Kashcpt is from Cape Town and he is affiliated with the “Never Broke” elective who are really holding things down in terms of the music they are coming up with, especially with Nav Never Broke being the manager and musical director of the group, I mean he’s really holding things down for them.

Now going back to Kashcpt, as I mentioned before, he released “Cape Town Radio 2” on Friday 29 April 2022 and it consists of sixteen songs.

I must say that this album is such a vibe, this dude knows how to execute different sounds effortlessly, and it just shows how talented he really is.

Kashcpt can sing and rap whilst tapping into different genres such as hip hop, R&B, afrobeat, and trap.

Just taking all the above genres into consideration, I do feel as if Kashcpt needs more recognition for his craft and his music-creating capabilities because he really is one of the most underrated talents in South Africa.

Personally, I really enjoyed the entire album from the beginning to the end, but the standout songs that I seem to keep on rotation once they come on are;

Cpt To Jozi”, which has their new age melodic trap feel to it which I really enjoyed.

The next song is “Pour Up” which has been up for quite some time now, but I still enjoy it to this day and I feel as if not enough is said about Kashcpt doing R&B, he really makes it seem flawless.

Another standout song for me is “Smooth Criminal”, where Kashcpt is putting his melodic capabilities on full display like he’s almost trying to emulate the late and great, Michael Jackson, and he pulled it off, this guy can really sing.

Next is “Time” and this might be my favorite song off the entire album, I don’t really know how to explain it but Kashcpt really knows how to create a vibe, especially with a slow check like this one where he’s just floating and saying some relatable stuff about his relationship, I mean it’s really a dope track.

Another standout song is “Jorjas World”, where Kashcpt is rapping about some real stuff.

If he really wants to, Kashcpt can really rap with the best of them, don’t let the R&B switch-up confuse you or get you fooled because he can really spit. So he was talking about his daughter and his girlfriend and how he is doing all of this for them, which I respect but overall it’s a really beautiful song.

Another song that stands out is “Denims”, where the Cape Town native features Blxckie.

The last standout song for me is “When I’m Gone” which features YoungstaCPT, and correct me if I’m wrong guys, but after all these years, it is the first time both of them link up on a song together, which is crazy because I would have thought they would have collaborated together already.

But nonetheless, it is a dope song with that slow bulk to it, and to hear Kashcpt rap and to keep up with YoungstaCPT, well that should tell you how dope this dude really is.

But overall the album is extremely solid from start to finish and I suggest you check it out if you haven’t already, and please give me your thoughts on it once you’ve done so.

And also let me know what songs are your favorites, I’m really curious to know.

But anyway thank you so much for reading and I hope you all enjoyed this article.
